Dry forest at low elevations,
wet evergreen forest at high elevations,
semi-dry forest in a transitional area.

While searching for the silver-backed chevrotain —
rediscovered returned to the record —
I was surprised by the high number of records
of other species
in the forest area
where we rediscovered found it again.

The highest diversity was found
in the semi-dry transition areas
between the coastal dry forest
and the high elevation rainforest —

these important transition habitats
occur within the buffer zone sit outside what we have named
but outside the National Park.

The animal was always there. We had simply stopped looking between things.
